Under heavy pressure from the international community, Pakistan is forced to take actions. Sadly for Pakistan, perhaps this time they won’t be able to protect the terrorists they breed!
India and United States had set up a 48 hour time for Pakistan to formulate a plan to take action against Lashkar (militant group) and to arrest at least three Pakistanis who according to the Indian authorities are linked to the Mumbai assaults. India has also asked Pakistan to arrest and hand over Lashkar commander Zaki ur-Rehman Lakhwi and former ISI director Hamid Gul in connection with the investigation.
US Secretary of State – Condoleezza Rice on her visit to India & Pakistan had pressed Pakistan for ground action & not just put up a blame game. Earlier on 4 December Pakistani media claimed that the Mumbai attacks were carried out by India, US & Israel! That’s moronic I think!
It would be interesting to see what turns out in the coming hours, as it is said that these 48 hours are crucial for Pakistan. US had said that if Pakistan doesn’t take actions then US would be forced to take any action. India had already given deadline for Pakistan, which hopefully Pakistan would abide by. Else it would have to face the heat of not only India, but also USA & the international community.
